Such a perfect balance of images and words Shital! Makes me think that the beach is soothing not just because of the rhythm of the waves and the vast horizon in view but because of its ability to showcase the diversity of humanity against that vast eternal backdrop.
The one thing that I miss the most since moving from England to Toronto is easy access to the sea. Yes, we have Lake Ontario on our doorstep but it’s not nearly the same. We have to fly to get to the coast from where we now live, but it’s so worth it when we get there. There’s nothing more cathartic than walking along a sandy beach, listening to the waves crashing and breathing in salty sea air.
I love it when you focus on the little stories happening along the beach, especially the boys playing in the crashing, churning waves on shore. Such exuberance!
We are so blessed to be living in a country with a huge coastline. Such beautiful metaphors Shital! Also loved the observations of your lens. Great read all in all!
Some wonderful and contemplative photos. The third photo has so much going on and the penultimate one is a perfectly composed, thoughtful image. Lovely colours too.
Wow. What a lovely read Shital. I loved the 2,3 and second last photos beyond measure.
Excellent work like always ❤️
Thanks much Rishabh for reading and for letting me know what you liked.
Especially the black-white-pics got me. Great work! 👏
Thanks so much!

Thanks so much Mukta and I agree completely!
Beaches are intriguing. Back in Belgium I have been working the same stretch of beach myself for years now. (https://amatterofseeing.substack.com/p/fishing-for-light-in-the-surf)
Thanks Geert! I just checked out your images. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful photos and prose as always, Shital.

Thank you Mark. I understand as I miss the ocean too. I have to travel to enjoy these moments as well. But it’s totally worth it!

"the beach is a metaphor for the impermanence in life"
True! It's always there, but it is never quite the same as it was before.
Yes it’s always changing and evolving into something new. Thank you for stopping by Kevin.
This was a sensational piece Shital. Loved the pictures, the thoughts, the depth . Everything.
Thanks so much Sanket
