Beautiful, Shital! Thanks for sharing. I love how you see photography as your path for self-discorvery.
I'm pretty sure there is a lot of information encoded in your photography. I'm always curious to know what people sees when they take a photograph ❤️ You can meet the artist through its art. Photography is an extension of ourselves and our soul 🙏
For some reason, your writing reminded me of Rumi's words: "What you seek is seeking you" :)
This is great, Shital and insightful. I could take a page out of your book for myself! The simplicity alone is challenging. As photographers, we tend to try to capture it all. Thank you for the inspiration!
These are beautiful images, Shital, the third and the last photographs being the two I find the most compelling.
I am right there with you in the desire to simplify aspects of my life. So I can understand how your photographs speak to you that way. I think it’s very insightful of you to recognize that what you’re drawn to seeing and making in your art is what you crave in your life. It causes me to want to look for the same parallels in my own art/life. I wonder what my photos can tell me about my own unrecognized (as of yet) longings.
I agree, Shital! Photography can be a portal to self-discovery and inspiration. I truly believe it. Sometimes, the eye sees it before the mind and heart do. And, our emotions sometimes obscure them. There’s literally clarity through the lens! Thank you for another lovely reflection.
I'd say your post connects into this week's prompt of Meaning at a deep level. What a great set of minimal images and an astute observation of your external creations reflecting your optimal inner state of being. The idea that our photos are a reflection of ourselves is so true.
Your eye is as sharp as the blade of a samurai sword. The phtoos of human figures on roofs are terrific. You once said you use your mobile phone to capture shots from your car. Is that the case here too?
Love all of these images, Shital. Although I am really drawn to third and fourth images of the workmen on the scaffolding. Sometimes it feels like the simplest of images are the most powerful.
As an architect and urbanist I understanding your fascination with the mundane in the city... Such interesting compositions Shital. I loved understanding your process.
Muchas gracias!!

Thank you Antony. You are absolutely right a photo is a part of the photographer’s story. Btw that quote of Rumi is my all time favourite saying.
Great writing and great photos, Shital.
Thanks much Mark.

Oh, and the photo of the bird on the roof… it’s just wonderful!
Thanks much Georgia
Look forward to a post on your photos that speak to you!
Such beautiful photographs and such an insightful essay. We should all take your words to heart Thanks so much for sharing this with us.
Thank you very much Monica glad the post resonated with you.

Thanks much for your comment Stella and for reading. The process of taking a photograph is fascinating!
I always look up when photographing any location! S many great things to see. Lovely essay:)
Thanks much Jennifer
Each photograph is a story waiting to be told - that’s what I think as a writer. As a photographer, you do it in one capture!
Sometimes it’s vice versa! Thanks much Priya.
A whole bunch of really nice images! Shooting from the car like this has never occurred to me.
Thanks much Donn. Car photography is great but also difficult as one has to be extremely alert. I enjoy it!

Thank you very much! Yes our photos are what we are.

Alex you have a way with words!! Thanks so much. Yes these are indeed mobile photographs. It’s easier to shoot with a phone camera from the car.
That's all that matters Shital, what you do, how you do it and what you get from it. Great observations here. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much Xavi for your comment. Appreciate it!
Beautiful photography Shital. I find myself constantly looking at things through a frame. I loved learning more about you through you work.
Pamela💛 thanks much!
