I love all of this--it was just what I needed to read this morning when I feel like my nervous system is more than a little frayed by (gestures broadly at everything). I love rainy periods for exactly what you're describing. I've also had a similar relationship to snow that I didn't have before. I used to dread storms and all the problems they threw up in their wake. But now I'm one of those people pulling on her boots, wrapping her camera in a plastic bag, and heading out as fast as possible to get up close and personal with the stillness and wonder. :)
A couple of my favorites from the last couple of seasons. As with everywhere else, New England winters are not always huge snow monsters like they once were. I’m grateful for whatever unfolds :)
I’m so happy you are seeing rain with “new eyes”. You photographs are splendid. I love the rebirth that comes after a rain. The grass is greener, the plants and flowers refreshed as the ducks play in the puddles. Driving in it is another story.
I feel delighted by this beautiful piece you have put together, Shital!
As always, the photos are just beautiful. The first made me stop for a second and admire it. It's just breath taking. Looks almost like a picture!
It's amazing how photography can make look things a different perspective. I also feel the same when I take photos. It's a really mindful experience! Makes me perceive life and places in a different way.
Glad the post resonated with you Antony. Thank you for reading! The first image is of a beautiful plant amidst the rain that I took through a frosted glass.
What lovely pictures!!! Brings back such memories. I am a monsoon lover (so I miss it now). After the dry, dusty summer, it was wonderful to see the city, washed by the rain, leaves glistening, puddles of water to splash in.
Thanks for writing this beautiful piece, Shital. I have always loved the rains. The relief of the first rain brings out the gentler side of nature. The photographs capture the rain in its mystic beauty. As I see your photographs and read the pieces, I thank you for awakening me to life and its various hues.
Rains ,sky and trees have their own language
Yes they do!

Glad it does Tara…some people really love the rain!

Absolutely gorgeous, Shital! I love the way you see “rain.” You and I are on the same page. It is indeed a visual inspiration once we shift our perspective! Let me share this series with you: https://open.substack.com/pub/stellakalaw/p/working-with-limitations?r=15ev81&utm_medium=ios
