Hello! It’s good to be back and connect with you after my self imposed much needed break! Today’s (random) photographs are from a short trip to Kochi/ Cochin a major port city in Kerala located in south western India.
2024 was all about taking a step back from the chaos of the world, going with the flow and being self-reflexive for the most part. It was a time for self-discovery and making peace with everything around. 2025, as I see it, will be an interesting contrast in terms of productivity and serendipity. It is likely to be a shuttling between structured efficiency and the random immersion of oneself in the creative pursuit.
Having taken on more responsibilities at my workplace this year, I will have to aim for an optimal work/ life balance. Life here mostly means for me photography and travel. But right now, I only want to talk to you and myself :) about photography and my thoughts around it. It’s the best way I think to start my journey of images this year.
Photography for me is this silent, but beautiful, dialogue between the world and me. It is also a path where I move amidst impermanence and possibilities driven by a spirit of serendipitous adventure. What I love the most about this approach is my expectation that the streets I see every day will even so hold a revelation for me. The ordinary may carry the shades of the extraordinary.
I think when adventure calls us, photography teaches us to pause, to let the world reveal itself on its own terms. The ordinary transforms as if by magic! These are the treasures that serendipity bestows—gifts that cannot be planned or predicted, only welcomed.
I think of myself as a wanderer someone who is guided by intuition and someone who thrives in the journey more than the destination. As “photography wanderers,” we see beyond the surface and are attuned to the subtleties of things around us. The act of wandering is not pointless, it is in fact a deliberate surrender to the many possibilities that will lead to some precious discoveries.
Our photographs become not just images but reflections of our connection to the world, evidence of our shared existence. Photography is my way of honouring the present moment and the infinite possibilities it holds.
As I start my photography journey in 2025, I will have to embrace the dichotomies of a fast paced life blended with moments of stillness in serendipity. I hope to approach it all with a spirit of adventure and experience the unexpected as and when it unfolds. I know one thing for sure that through the images I make this year, I will have a deeper understanding of what it means to truly see.
What a great capture!
Your photographic journey is a lyrical dance between perception and epiphany, where each frame becomes a whispered conversation with the unseen. You navigate urban landscapes like an intuitive cartographer, mapping moments that shimmer between the routine and the transcendent.
Your lens doesn't merely capture reality; it alchemizes the commonplace into unexpected poetry, revealing how extraordinary luminescence can pulse beneath the most unassuming surfaces.
